The United Kingdom has attributed Iran's involvement in an attempted terrorist attack at RAF Fairford, and the United States Department of State has issued a joint statement backing that attribution. Why now: A formal joint US-UK statement accusing Iran of involvement in an attempted terrorist attack is a significant diplomatic escalation drawing attention.
