Fantasy and science fiction author Susan Kaye Quinn says that while she is not a doomer, now is the moment to prepare for things getting worse even as people keep fighting to make them better. She says she is not alone in feeling like it is time to "brace for impact", echoing a wider mood of anxiety and preparedness among those engaged on climate and social issues.
Why now: Concerns about climate change and political instability are prompting public figures to tell their followers to prepare for deteriorating conditions.
