WiFi 7 Router Repurposed as Wideband Software Defined Radio
Original: Turn a WiFi 7 Router into a 320Msps Software Defined Radio Receiver
A new open-source project shows how a WiFi 7 router can be turned into a software defined radio receiver capable of sampling at 320 Msps. The approach exploits the router's high-speed wireless chipset hardware to capture wide swaths of radio spectrum, far beyond what typical cheap SDR dongles can handle. Enthusiasts are discussing the hack as a low-cost route to high-performance radio reception.
Why now: A novel, low-cost hardware hack is circulating among developers and radio enthusiasts.
