Federal agents search Ilhan Omar's home in criminal investigation
Original: Federal agents search Ilhan Omar’s home as part of criminal investigation
Federal agents have searched the home of Minnesota congresswoman Ilhan Omar as part of a criminal investigation. The search comes amid escalating attacks from President Trump and key allies, who have accused Omar of immigration fraud and called for her to be expelled from the United States. Omar, a frequent target of the administration, has not been charged with any crime in connection with the investigation.
Why now: The search of a sitting congresswoman who is a prominent target of Trump and his allies raises concerns about the political use of law enforcement.
