Yandex outage linked to Ukrainian strikes sparks online reaction
Original: Very telling when # russian # yandex goes down due to # ukraine strikes. # afd , # maga & # eu polarization loses online
Yandex, Russia's largest search and services company, reportedly went down following Ukrainian strikes, and observers were quick to draw a connection between the outage and a visible drop in pro-AfD, pro-MAGA and EU-polarizing content online. Commenters suggest the disruption cut off bot networks that amplify divisive political messaging in Europe and the United States.
Why now: The apparent link between a Russian tech outage and a sudden decline in polarizing political bot activity is being read as evidence of coordinated influence operations.
