Bolivia readies first homegrown satellite Waskiri-Sat and space law
Original: Bolivia prepares Waskiri-Sat, its first homegrown satellite, and a framework space law
Bolivia is developing Waskiri-Sat, its first domestically built satellite, alongside a new framework law to govern space activities. The programme, reported by regional aviation press, would mark a shift from the state's earlier dependence on the foreign-built Túpac Katari satellite, giving Bolivia homegrown space capabilities and a legal framework to regulate and promote its space sector.
Why now: It signals Bolivia's ambition to build an independent, homegrown space programme with its own legal framework.
