James Talarico back on campaign trail at ACL after illness
Original: James Talarico returns to campaign trail at ACL festival after illness spurred GOP calls for “proof of life”
Texas Democratic candidate James Talarico has returned to campaigning with an appearance at the ACL music festival in Austin, after an illness kept him out of public view. His absence prompted Republicans to demand what they called "proof of life," and his reemergence at a major public event is being read as a direct response to those attacks.
Why now: His return ends a spell out of sight that Republicans had turned into a political attack ahead of the election.
