Original: Rep. Ilhan Omar’s DC home raided by DHS as part of probe into Dem’s immigration paperwork
Federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security searched Representative Ilhan Omar's Washington, DC home as part of an investigation into her immigration paperwork, the New York Post reports. The raid ties into a broader scrutiny of how the Minnesota Democrat obtained citizenship, an issue her critics have raised for years. No charges have been announced and details of the probe remain limited.
Why now: The reported federal raid on a sitting congresswoman's home over her own immigration records is an extraordinary development in a long-running political controversy.
