DeJamz: Music before the algorithm
Original: Music before the algorithm DeJamz
The DePaulia is running DeJamz, a feature built around the idea of discovering music before the algorithm does. The column frames music discovery as something that should come from human taste and personal picks rather than streaming recommendations, inviting readers to explore songs and artists outside of curated playlists.
Why now: Ongoing debate over how much streaming algorithms shape music taste has made human-curated discovery formats appealing.
Rank over time, top of the chart is #1. 9 snapshots from 4 d ago to 4 d ago.
