Election officials urge voters to mail ballots early
Original: ‘Mail early’: Election officials urge voters to return ballots ASAP to avoid potential Postal Service delays
Election officials are urging voters to return their mail ballots as soon as possible, warning that U.S. Postal Service delays could cause ballots to arrive after election deadlines and go uncounted. The guidance, reported by Votebeat, is part of broader efforts to make sure voters do not rely on last-minute mailing and instead submit ballots well ahead of Election Day.
Why now: Concerns about Postal Service delays risking late-arriving mail ballots in an upcoming election.
