Bed bugs ground Qantas Rome-to-Perth flight
A Qantas flight from Rome to Perth has been grounded after bed bugs were found, forcing the airline to pull the aircraft from service and disrupt passengers on the long-haul route. The incident draws attention to pest problems on international flights and the cleanup and rebooking headaches they cause. Travellers are weighing the hygiene implications for one of the world's longest flight routes.
Why now: The disruption of a major long-haul route by a pest infestation is unusual and embarrassing for a flagship carrier.
