Indiana Democrats pin hopes on Beau Bayh revival
Original: Indiana Democrats hope Beau Bayh leads them from political wilderness
Indiana Democrats are looking to Beau Bayh, son of former US Senator and Governor Evan Bayh, as a possible standard-bearer to revive a party that has struggled to win statewide office in recent years. Party figures hope the Bayh family name and profile could help Democrats regain ground after repeated losses across Indiana.
Why now: Democrats in a Republican-dominated state are searching for a credible, well-known candidate to lead them back to competitiveness.
