South Korean online bookstore YES24 has been drawn into a scheme in which dubious buyers offer to purchase secondhand books by the container-load. According to Joongang Ilbo, a representative of a company referred to as B said YES24 was asked not to ship books directly to the firm, with the buyers arranging their own carriers. The report is the second in a series examining these suspicious emails, which reportedly originated in Japan and have now spread to the Korean secondhand book market.

Why now: A reported wave of suspicious container-scale used-book purchase offers spreading from Japan to Korea is raising concerns in the secondhand book trade.
