Jacoby Brissett racks up stats in blowout garbage time
Original: Garbage time fuels big numbers for Jacoby Brissett
Jacoby Brissett put up big statistical numbers, but much of his production came in garbage time once the outcome of the game was already decided. Commentators are pointing out the hollow nature of those stats, with the Yahoo Sports headline emphasizing that the bulk of his yards and scores came when the game was out of hand. The performance is drawing debate over how much credit he deserves for the inflated numbers.
Why now: His big stat line came largely in a decided game, prompting debate about the value of garbage-time production.
