The German-language fantasy book community is marking the seventh anniversary of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" with a writing prompt asking participants to imagine their protagonist enduring Vogon poetry and how fast they would run away. Respondents joke that no one can run fast enough to avoid bleeding ears, playing on Douglas Adams's famous gag about poetry's lethal badness.

Why now: Fans are celebrating the anniversary of Douglas Adams's cult science fiction classic with a humorous shared writing challenge.
