Bitwarden licence change sparks community concerns
Original: Bitwarden: Lizenzwechsel sorgt für Bedenken in der Community https:// linuxnews.de/bitwarden-lizenzw echsel-sorgt-fuer-b
Password manager Bitwarden has changed its software licence, and the change is drawing criticism from parts of the open source community. Users and developers on German-language tech channels worry the new terms could reduce the project's openness and affect forks or self-hosted setups, prompting debate about alternatives and trust in the platform.
Why now: Bitwarden's licence change raises fears about the future openness of a widely used open source security tool.
