Shane Gillis hosts Saturday Night Live as season slump continues

Original: snl

Shane Gillis returned to host Saturday Night Live, with The Guardian praising him as a strong, game host while arguing the show's underwhelming season streak continued. Reviewers highlighted his comic energy and willingness to commit to sketches, but critics said the writing and overall episode quality still fell short of expectations for the long-running NBC comedy show.

Why now: Gillis's latest hosting turn is drawing reviews that split his strong performance from the show's ongoing poor season.
