HashiCorp archives the Boundary open source repository
Original: HashiCorp archives the Boundary open source repo
HashiCorp has archived the open source repository for Boundary, its identity-based access management tool, on GitHub. Archiving makes the repo read-only, ending public contributions and signaling that active open source development of the project has stopped. The move is drawing discussion among developers, many of whom see it as another step in HashiCorp's retreat from open source after its 2023 license changes.
Why now: Developers are reacting to the end of open source development for a widely used infrastructure access tool, following HashiCorp's earlier licensing controversy.
