A developer has highlighted Kittygram, an alternative front-end for Instagram that is open-source, self-hosted and free of advertising. The tool lets users browse Instagram content without ads or tracking, and the recommended public instance is kg.meowing.de, which also mirrors Portuguese-language accounts. Discussion centres on its usefulness for following pages discreetly and the broader appeal of self-hosted, ad-free alternatives to mainstream social platforms.
Why now: Growing interest in self-hosted, ad-free tools that bypass mainstream social media platforms.
