Congress accuses BJP-RSS workers of beating girl at protest
Original: BJP-RSS thugs beating a girl to the ground while the police watch the spectacle | Protest
India's opposition Congress party is circulating a claim that a young woman was beaten to the ground by BJP-RSS workers during a protest, allegedly while police stood by and did nothing. The accusation, made publicly by the party, is drawing attention to police conduct and political violence against protesters, with supporters and critics debating what the footage or account actually shows.
Why now: The allegation of political violence with police inaction is inflaming India's partisan conflict ahead of heightened protest activity.
