Russian forces struck Kharkiv's Thermal Power Plant No. 5, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said 'there has just been a Russian strike on TPP-5 in Kharkiv.' The attack came just as Donald Trump called for an energy infrastructure truce between Russia and Ukraine, highlighting the gap between peace efforts and continued strikes on the ground.
Why now: The strike directly contradicts ongoing US-led calls for an energy ceasefire, making it highly newsworthy.
