Calls Grow for Regulation of Robots
Original: Unregulated robots
Concerns are being raised that robots and autonomous systems are being deployed with little to no regulatory oversight. Commentators argue that as robotic technology spreads into workplaces, public spaces and homes, governments have yet to establish clear rules on safety, liability and accountability, leaving a fast-moving industry largely unsupervised.
Why now: Robotic technology is advancing and entering public life faster than laws are being written to govern it.
