Painting beyond the canvas: new Art Basel conversation
Original: Conversations | Painting beyond the canvas
Art Basel has released a new instalment in its Conversations series titled 'Painting beyond the canvas', looking at how contemporary artists are pushing the medium past its traditional two-dimensional limits. The discussion explores how painters are extending their practice into objects, installation, space and digital formats, and what this means for the future and market of the medium.
Why now: Art Basel is a leading voice in the art world, and debates about the changing boundaries of painting are a recurring talking point among collectors, artists and curators.
