DUP leader refuses to collapse Stormont over Drumcree dispute
Original: carla lockhart
DUP leader Carla Lockhart says the party will not bring down the Northern Ireland Executive over the Drumcree parade dispute, asking 'Does collapsing Stormont bring the Orangemen home?' Her comments address tensions around the long-running controversy over Orange Order parades at Drumcree in Portadown, where Orangemen have been blocked from marching down the Garvaghy Road since the late 1990s.
Why now: Tensions are running high around the Drumcree parade dispute during the marching season, and her stance against collapsing Stormont is drawing attention.
