UK politician Andy Burnham is reported to have become the first prime minister to confirm that Russia interfered in the 2016 Brexit referendum. The claim has circulated widely on social media, drawing attention to long-standing allegations of Russian meddling in the vote and prompting debate about what evidence has been disclosed and what consequences might follow for UK-Russia relations.
