Open Quantum Challenge offers $1,000 prizes, no quantum hardware needed
Original: Run it on your own GPU. No quantum hardware required. Two seasons, $1,000 prize each. # quantum # benchmark # opensource
The Open Quantum Challenge (OQC) invites developers to take part in a reproducible, hardware-free quantum computing benchmark that runs on ordinary GPUs. The challenge is structured in two seasons, each carrying a $1,000 prize, and is being promoted as an open-source, community-driven project spanning quantum computing, machine learning and software engineering.
Why now: The novelty of benchmarking quantum algorithms without access to quantum hardware, plus cash prizes, is drawing attention among open-source developers.
