Reading parents and teachers seen as key to kids reading more
Original: If you want children to read more, the best way is to read more yourself 😊 @ libraries@literature.cafe @ Libraries@fedig
Library and book communities online are sharing the reminder that children are far more likely to pick up books when the adults around them read regularly themselves. The message, framed as lighthearted advice, is resonating with librarians, teachers and writers who argue that modelling a reading habit at home and in classrooms matters more than lecturing kids about books.
Why now: The advice strikes a chord with parents, teachers and librarians concerned about declining reading habits among children.
