Tesla renames Full Self-Driving package in Europe
Original: Tesla Renames Full Self-Driving Package to Assisted Driving Across Europe
Tesla has renamed its Full Self-Driving package to Assisted Driving across European markets. The change, reported by Yahoo Finance, reflects regulatory and consumer pressure to describe the driver-assistance system more accurately, since the software still requires active driver supervision and does not make vehicles fully autonomous.
Why now: The rename highlights ongoing scrutiny over whether Tesla's naming of its driver-assistance technology overstates its capabilities.
