Spanish bishops' radio warns against Spain becoming 'Italy under Meloni'
Original: La radio de los obispos, en su editorial: sería «un desastre» que España acabara como la Italia de Meloni
Cope, the radio station owned by the Spanish Catholic bishops' conference, said in an editorial that it would be 'a disaster' if Spain ended up like the Italy of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The editorial, reported by the religious news outlet Infovaticana, is drawing attention given the station's close ties to the Church hierarchy and the implication for Spain's right-wing parties ahead of political debate in Madrid.
Why now: An editorial from the bishops' own radio station criticising a right-wing European government model is striking amid ongoing Spanish political tensions.
