Writer jokes about punt gun history piece in Vanity Fair
Original: Look for my article on the history of the punt gun in the next issue of Vanity Fair magazine. It won’t be there, but loo
A writer is publicly telling readers to look out for an article on the history of the punt gun in the next issue of Vanity Fair — while admitting upfront that the piece will not actually appear in the magazine. The gag has drawn a small, amused reaction, with readers playing along with the deliberately pointless instruction and the odd pairing of a vintage waterfowl hunting weapon with a fashion and style magazine.
Why now: The joke's absurdist premise — teasing a Vanity Fair article that explicitly does not exist — is what people find funny and worth sharing.
