Original: nea haze

Singapore's National Environment Agency has released its latest haze situation update, dated 9 October 2026, as smoke haze affects the island. Authorities are preparing to distribute N95 masks to eligible Singaporeans and have announced changes to outdoor activities at schools and preschools should the Pollutant Standards Index reach 'very unhealthy' levels. The guidance comes as residents track air quality closely.

Why now: Haze conditions are currently affecting Singapore and the government has issued new health and school guidance.
