Readers indulge in 'space opera candy' beach books
Original: Book 34 of 2026 This is just space opera candy. I left these books at the beach so I wouldn't read them all at once. Abs
A reader has shared that their 34th book of 2026 is light space opera, calling it absolute fluff and leaving the series at the beach on purpose to avoid binge-reading it all at once. The comment captures a common summer reading habit of saving quick, fun genre fiction for holidays and pacing it out rather than devouring it in one sitting.
Why now: People enjoy sharing lighthearted summer reading picks and the relatable struggle of rationing a fun series
