The young photo reporter prize of the 33rd Bayeux Calvados-Normandie Award for war correspondents has been given to Palestinian Associated Press photographer Jehad Alshrafi for his series 'Endless War and Devastation in Gaza'. The images document the ongoing destruction and humanitarian toll of the war in Gaza. The award, held annually in Normandy, honours journalism from conflict zones, and this year's recognition highlights continued attention to Gaza coverage.

Why now: The announcement of the Bayeux war correspondence prize winners has just been made, with the Gaza-focused winning work drawing attention.
