AI-coded browser ports of classic games impress players
Original: Vibe coded browser ports of Halo, The Simpsons: Hit And Run, GTA work well
Web browser ports of major games including Halo, The Simpsons: Hit And Run and GTA: Vice City, built largely with AI-assisted 'vibe coding', are reportedly running remarkably well. Commenters are reacting with a mix of admiration at how functional the fan-made ports are and concern about what the trend means for copyright, emulation and the games industry.
Why now: AI-generated code producing working ports of big copyrighted games raises both excitement and legal concerns.
