Astrophotographer shares mosaic of Orion's nebulae

Original: Last observation of the night. Another view of (from top to bottom) # Sh2 -279 # TheRunningManNebula / # M43 # DeMairan

An amateur astronomer has posted a night-sky image mosaic covering the Orion Nebula complex, including Messier 42, Messier 43 (De Mairan's Nebula) and Sh2-279, also known as the Running Man Nebula. The image stacks several neighbouring nebulae into one tall field, and the observer says more views of the region are likely to follow.

Why now: Amateur astronomers and space enthusiasts are sharing images of the Orion nebula complex during the current observing season.
