Demonstrators gathered outside New Zealand's Parliament in Wellington, demanding an end to what they described as Israel's genocide in Gaza and calling on the government to impose sanctions on Israel. The protest reflects growing public pressure on Wellington to take a stronger stance on the war, as marches over Gaza continue around the world.

Why now: Ongoing anger over the war in Gaza is driving protests pressuring Western governments, including New Zealand, to act against Israel.
