NVIDIA reportedly discontinuing RTX 5090 as GB202 chips go Pro
Original: nvidia rtx
Reports say NVIDIA is planning to discontinue the consumer RTX 5090, with the high-end GB202 GPU being reserved for its RTX PRO professional series instead. If true, the flagship consumer card would be phased out, limiting access to NVIDIA's most powerful gaming hardware and pushing buyers toward workstation products or lower-tier RTX 50 models.
Why now: Gamers and PC builders are reacting to reports that NVIDIA's flagship consumer GPU may be scrapped in favor of professional cards.
