Syria's Christians seek safety, not revenge
Original: syrien
Christian communities in Syria are calling for security rather than retribution as the country's future remains uncertain following the fall of the Assad government. Aid organisation Open Doors reports that Syrian Christians want assurances they can live safely under the new authorities, amid lingering fears of persecution by extremist groups in the transitional period.
Why now: Ongoing uncertainty about the treatment of religious minorities in post-Assad Syria keeps the topic in public discussion.
