Politician named Hitler Mussolini wins election in Peru

Original: burgemeester

A Peruvian politician literally named Hitler Mussolini has won an election in Peru and is set to become mayor, Dutch media report. The unusual name has drawn widespread attention and mockery online, with many noting the irony of a democratically elected official bearing the names of two fascist dictators.

Why now: The candidate's extraordinary name, combining Hitler and Mussolini, makes the election result striking and shareable news.
