Peruvian candidate named Hitler Mussolini wins local election
Original: partito politico
A left-wing candidate in Peru whose full name includes 'Hitler Mussolini' has won a local vote, according to Euronews. The unusual name, a combination of the two fascist dictators, has drawn attention internationally despite the candidate's own left-wing political affiliation. The result has sparked comments on social media about the oddity of the name and what it says about naming traditions, which in Peru can be eclectic and unregulated.
Why now: The striking combination of the candidate's name and his election victory is an unusual story circulating widely.
