Nico Dijkshoorn hit by fat bike in Amsterdam

Original: nico dijkshoorn

Dutch columnist and TV personality Nico Dijkshoorn says he was knocked over by a fat bike, telling the talk show Vandaag Inside that the collision 'did a lot' to him. His comments land amid a widening Dutch debate about fat bikes, the heavy e-bikes popular with teenagers that many say are dangerous to pedestrians.

Why now: Fat bikes are a hot-button safety issue in the Netherlands, and a well-known columnist being knocked down by one fuels that debate.
