Original: India's anti-terror agency to probe mid-air cockpit attack on Captain Smit Machchhar aboard flydubai...
India's National Investigation Agency has taken over the case of a mid-air attack on Captain Smit Machchhar, a pilot aboard a flydubai flight, after a passenger allegedly targeted the cockpit during the flight. The case has been handed to the anti-terror agency, indicating authorities are treating the incident as a potential terror-related offence rather than a routine security breach.
Why now: The transfer of the case to India's anti-terror agency signals authorities see the cockpit attack as potentially terrorism-related, making it newsworthy.
