Rahul Gandhi said he has been fighting Narendra Modi and the RSS for more than a decade and understands his opponents 'inside out', calling cowardice their core characteristic and naming Modi, Amit Shah, Mohan Bhagwat and Gyanesh Kumar in a sharply worded attack. The remarks drew wide attention in India, with supporters backing his framing and critics calling it inflammatory political rhetoric ahead of ongoing political battles.

Why now: A senior opposition leader publicly attacking the Prime Minister, the ruling party's leadership and the RSS always sparks major political debate in India.
