Ukrainian drones hit Rostov-on-Don refinery amid US-Russia talks

Original: The refinery in Rostov-on-Don, attacked by Ukrainian drones, is also burning, three hours after the US-Russia agreement.

A major oil refinery in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, is reportedly burning after an attack by Ukrainian drones, coming hours after a US-Russia agreement was announced. The timing has drawn attention as it undercuts the idea of de-escalation. At the same time, Germany is reassuring Kyiv that American aid has become largely irrelevant, claiming Berlin has taken over support for Ukraine's war effort.

Why now: The strike timing clashes with the reported US-Russia agreement, raising questions about the deal's impact on the war.
