The opening credits sequence of the TV series "War" was created using digital painting tools, drawing attention in animation and design circles. According to the creators, the team hand-animated the movement and performance of the paint using Procreate with an Apple Pencil on an iPad, before bringing the work into further production. The choice of an open-source-friendly, hand-crafted painting pipeline for a broadcast title sequence is what's catching people's interest.
Why now: People are discussing the unusual use of digital painting software rather than conventional motion graphics tools for a TV series title sequence.
