Original: NASA’s SkyFall Mars Helicopters

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is drawing attention with SkyFall, a proposed Mars helicopter mission that would build on the success of Ingenuity. The concept envisions multiple small helicopters scouting the Martian surface, following the first aircraft to fly on another planet. Space enthusiasts and commentators are praising the ambition while debating whether the project will secure funding and a launch date.

Why now: NASA's follow-up to the landmark Ingenuity Mars helicopter is a natural point of excitement and speculation about the future of aerial exploration on Mars.
