Bezos says AI could bring three-day workweeks

Original: jeff bezos

Jeff Bezos says artificial intelligence could eventually allow people to work only three days a week, making the remarks shortly after Amazon cut roughly 30,000 jobs. His comments have drawn attention across the US, UK, Australia and Canada, with many seeing a tension between optimistic claims about AI freeing up workers' time and the large-scale layoffs at the company he founded.

Why now: The remarks landed just as Amazon announced 30,000 job cuts, making claims about AI-enabled shorter workweeks controversial.
