Original: London schools crisis: Primary in Richmond latest to face closure due to drop in pupil numbers https://www.standard.co.u
A primary school in Richmond has become the latest in London to face closure, as the capital's schools contend with a sustained drop in pupil numbers. The Standard reports the closure forms part of a wider crisis across London's education system, with falling birth rates and families leaving the city leaving classrooms under-filled and budgets under strain.
Why now: The closure highlights a growing citywide schools funding and capacity crisis driven by declining pupil numbers.
