Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Berlin to protest the German government's policies on renewable energy. Protesters say current measures risk decimating the solar and wind industry and crippling the country's energy transition. The march has drawn wide attention, with scientists among those amplifying calls for stronger support of renewables.

Why now: Ongoing public frustration with German climate and energy policy has mobilised large protests.
