Posts are backing South African jurist Navi Pillay, 85, as a candidate for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, praising her as a humane figure and linking her to calls for a free Palestine. Pillay chaired the UN Commission of Inquiry that examined rights violations in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, work that has drawn both admiration and fierce controversy worldwide.
Why now: Speculation about next year's Nobel Peace Prize is circulating, with campaigners pushing Pillay's candidacy because of her Gaza-related human rights work.
